What we do

We enhance productivity within teams across projects and departments by leveraging a battle-tested, repeatable workshop format designed to foster clear team goals, priorities, and outcomes. This approach not only strengthens team cohesion but also ensures that teamwork truly delivers results. Moreover, our workshops are designed to be engaging and enjoyable, making the process not just effective but also great fun. Our methodology transforms the way teams collaborate, making teamwork effective, impactful, and enjoyable.

Your team workshop facilitator, Joern Steinz (MBA), is the founder of the Hamburg-based innovation firm INNOMINDS. With a decade of experience, he has been conducting team workshops nearly 100 times per year for the past 10 years.

Team Workshop Activities

Our workshops are available in a variety of formats to suit your needs, including full-day and half-day options, as well as customized sessions tailored to your specific requirements. We offer these workshops on-site across Europe, as well as virtually and in a hybrid format, ensuring flexibility and accessibility. Furthermore, we conduct these sessions in both English and German.

Our journey

Our journey as a team. Where do we want to go? What does success look like in a year from now? What moves us forward, and what slows us down? What obstacles are in our way? What can we do to mitigate, or eliminate, the negative factors? What are we going to do right away?

2 truths & 1 lie

Each team member presents three statements about themselves: two truths and one falsehood. The challenge for the others is to identify the lie. The most intriguing aspect, naturally, is uncovering truths about teammates that are unexpected or surprising.

Team Canvas

Through this exercise, we establish a shared language and mutual understanding of how the team generates value. Additionally, we delineate the various roles and responsibilities within the team, ensuring clarity and alignment among all members. Moreover, we formulate a team mission and a team value proposition, further solidifying the team’s purpose and guiding principles.

LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY®

In this activity, we employ the LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® bricks to construct a tangible representation of our team’s values. Individual LEGO® models created by team members are merged into a collective team model, symbolizing the core values that are most significant to the team. This interactive process facilitates a deeper understanding of the team´s shared values

Activities for more effective team work

Democratic Dot Voting: Each team member casts their vote, with the option receiving the majority of votes being chosen.

Team Ranking: Team members rank the options individually. The option with the highest overall ranking is selected.

Designated Decider: This approach assigns a specific individual the role of making the final decision, taking into account the input from the entire team.

Brainwriting Before Brainstorming: A method where team members first write down their ideas independently before sharing them in a group brainstorming session. This encourages the generation of a diverse set of ideas.

Art Gallery Method: This technique involves combining the best ideas from all team members into a collective “exhibition” for review and further refinement.

Marshmallow Tower Challenge

The Marshmallow Tower Challenge is a popular team-building exercise that promotes collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving within groups. The objective of the challenge is straightforward: teams are tasked with building the tallest free-standing structure possible using only a limited set of materials.

It’s a fun, engaging way to encourage teams to think critically and creatively under time pressure.

Sharing is caring

In the final exercise, team members share something valuable with their coworkers. This could include a variety of personal insights or recommendations, such as a life-guiding quote, a favorite weekend activity, a highly regarded book, or an engaging Netflix series. This activity fosters deeper connections and mutual understanding among team members, enriching the team’s bonding.
